Trending Now: Wedding Decor Trend Report

Updated: Feb 18, 2020

So many sources reference decor items that are on-trend for 2019 weddings that it gets hard to keep track of them all! Here's how to make it easier (you have enough things to plan)! Let Heart Wedding Decor keep track for you, all in one spot here on the blog. I'll be reporting all of the new trends as they come in from various sources such as Pinterest, The Knot, Wedding Wire, June Bug Weddings and more! I will also give some ideas on how to bring these trendy items into your wedding ceremony and reception.

Up first is the rust color palette which is so on-trend for 2019 weddings. This can be achieved by renting rust color LED taper candles. Note: many venues in northern Michigan are banning real flame candles due to liability. Be sure to find a decor rental company such as Heart that carries realistic flicker and/or steady-on candles that are long lasting. No one wants the candles to burn out before dinner is complete! Linens, runners and ribbon are all great ways to pull in this color. Pair rust with soft yellows, beige, browns and bronze metallics.

Copper is once again trending (if it ever really left. Many of my couples want copper as their accent metallic). Rent candle and votive holders in copper or table numbers made of copper metal. A couple more great ways to pull in this metallic is with charger plates and picture frames.

Terracotta is huge right now! The color of these naturally created pots is hot, along with many couples wanting to bring in natural elements. Rent several terracotta pots and pieces of various sizes and shapes. These pots can be loaded with floral and greenery and hung from the ceiling (venue permitting) or placed on the floor in a display with rustic-look or natural wood crates. How about this unusual idea: have your rental company create shards of terracotta and use them for place cards and table numbers! So unique, and Heart can make this happen. Centerpieces starring terracotta are absolutely lovely and your guests will "ooh" and "aah" over them. We can bet all of us have guests that use terracotta in their home gardens. Menu or bar offerings can even be written on a large pot and placed on a hefty stand or right on the bar if their is room.

Marquee, vintage felt, neon and lightbox signage are now starting to overtake chalkboard and wood signs as the ones to get to guide and direct guests. It can be anything from a simple "welcome" sign to the bar and/or food menu to the entire seating chart! Heart Wedding Decor carries all of it!

Rent our vintage felt letter sign!

Or how about food as decor? It's a thing! Think donut (or doughnut) walls or pretzel hanging stations. Heart has a brand new donut wall that can be customized to your wedding colors if you choose. And the pretzel hanging station is actually make from copper piping that has been sealed. We've also got tons of shelves and displays that could be used for treats instead. How cool is that?

Can be customized as you like!
Rent our large donut wall (holds up to seven dozen donuts!)

So what is the hottest trend right now in wedding decor? Pampas grass! How about working with a decor rental company that provides a great ceremony arch or arbor for your florist to decorate with a pampas grass garland? We at Heart can make that happen! Other great ideas include renting large rustic wood or ceramic planters that can be filled with a pampas grass display. We will work with your chosen florist to make your vision happen!

With all of these trends making the rounds, how do you keep track? Hire a wedding decor rental company that also provides design services. These professionals stay up on what's hot, but will also incorporate whatever your dream ideas are. With Heart Wedding Decor, we can work with any ideas, big or small, and with any budget.
